Varian Appoints Ling Director of Advanced Clinical Research
Varian Medical Systems, Incorporated (NYSE: VAR) announced it will appoint C. Clifton Ling, PhD, as Director of Advanced Clinical Research effective July 16, 2007.
Ling is a world renowned medical physicist who has been serving as chairman and attending physicist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York. Varian hopes he will play a pivotal role in guiding development of clinical products for radiosurgery and radiotherapy.
In addition to filling his new position, Ling plans to continue his hypoxia imaging research at MSKCC. “I look forward to the opportunities and challenges in working with Varian to develop novel and improved tools and methods for multimodality cancer therapy,” stated Dr Ling.
