Prognosis Podcast Provides Important Insights Into Cancer Survival Statistics
In this new HealthTalk podcast, Dr Brenda Edwards from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Dr Eddie Reed from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) share their expertise about the collection, interpretation and accuracy of statistics used for determining the recurrence and survival rates of cancer patients. They emphasize that, although statistics cannot answer the impossible question of precisely how long a particular patient will live, they can be very useful when trying to decide which course of treatment to choose.
